CISRS Courses

The CISRS scheme represents the UK's premier scaffolder training programme.

CISRS skills courses are split into three parts: Basic Scaffolder parts 1 and 2 (followed by a one day assessment six months later), and Advanced.

The previously available Assessed route of entry method of getting a card for tube and fitting scaffolders has now finished. Scaffolders must now complete the Basic and Advanced course. System scaffolders can still qualify through an assessed route, with a conversion course available for a scaffolder qualified in one system to prove competence in another.

CISRS Scaffolder Basic Part 1
For trainee scaffolders with at least six months experience. Following training guidelines, trainees will learn to erect and dismantle basic scaffolds.
CISRS Basic Part 2
Builds on the knowledge gained during the "part 1" course, covering different scaffold styles and techniques
One day assessment
Following completion of the two courses, submission of NVQ documentation and approval via the one-day assessment of skills, a trainee is entitled to apply for a basic scaffolder card.

CISRS Advanced Scaffolder
For experienced Basic scaffolders who have completed the CISRS basic 2-part course. Trainees will learn to erect advanced scaffolds including tubular drop off steelwork and raking shores.
Two day assessment
Following completion of the Advanced course, submission of NVQ documentation and approval via a two-day assessment of skills, a Basic scaffolder is entitled to apply for the Advanced Scaffolder card.

CISRS Supervisor Course

The CISRS Supervisor Course is aimed at newly appointed or inexperienced scaffolding supervisors and provides vital management and supervisory skills to help them to be successful in the role.
